Marie considers each owner’s personal circumstances in terms of designing and implementing wealth planning strategies to reduce tax burdens and create corporate governance principles that promote longevity in any business, especially in family-owned enterprises.
She regularly advises on the formation, corporate structure, annual regulatory maintenance, and day-to-day operations of both local and cross-border businesses. She takes a holistic approach, evaluating the purpose and location of a company, as well as the nationality and personal details of the owners, to recommend, create, and maintain the appropriate business vehicle in the most suited jurisdiction.
As the head of our international commerce practice, Marie advises our global clients on their businesses in Lebanon and the region. She manages the registration of local branches and representative offices, handles complex corporate governance matters, including board structures, shareholder rights, and regulatory compliance, and advises the clients on developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate legal exposure and safeguard client’s interests in dynamic business environments.
With decades of knowledge, Marie is adept at managing intricate negotiations and resolving disputes efficiently. She has represented local and foreign clients in high-profile cases, litigation, and arbitration, achieving favorable outcomes. She has negotiated and finalized a broad range of commercial agreements, including international distribution agreements, joint ventures, licensing agreements, franchising, commercial representations, service providers contracts, employment agreements, and others. Her refined and thorough touch makes clients see her as a partner genuinely invested in the success and growth of their businesses.
